“I started my career in the medical field when I joined the MN National Guard in 2008. I graduated the Army Combat Medic program and attained my National Registry Emergency Medical Technician. When I returned from active duty, I began working for Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) as a Tactical EMS instructor. While working at HCMC I had the experience of working with multiple police departments and tactical teams. Through HCMC, I had the pleasure of working with departments from Phoenix to Chicago and northern MN to Texas. The tactical EMS program that I worked with focused primarily on patrol operations and how to prevent line of duty deaths.

In 2013, I began working for the Minneapolis Police Department spending a majority of my time working in North Minneapolis in a 911 capacity. Aside from normal 911 response, I am a primary member of the departments medical support and education. My responsibilities are to ensure continued education in trauma care and other medically related ems training. In 2019, I became a nationally registered paramedic through HCMC spending a majority of my educational time riding in Minneapolis, responding to the same neighborhoods that I respond to as an officer with MPD.

Currently in the MN National Guard, I am assigned as a lead instructor for the 2-175 Regional Training Institute. My primary role in this is to teach combat medics and combat lifesavers basic and advanced medical care. The facility that I am a staff member at is the Medical Simulation and Training Center. Through here I am able to run full Tactical Combat Casualty Care scenarios utilizing the latest high-fidelity manikins. With my time at HCMC, I have created a very large catalog of scenario based medical training utilizing the militaries continued advancements in combat casualty care.

I am the owner of the training company Sentinel Tactical Emergency Medicine. The primary focus of this business is to train both civilians and law enforcement basic and advanced medical best practices. With Sentinel, I have the ability to pull in resources such as military and law enforcement instructors.”
